Port Angeles Health Study - Phases 1 & 2

In response to citizen concern related to industrial air emissions, the Washington State Deptment of Health conducted a series of studies to assess respiratory health in children. Phase I found that rates of wheeze and chronic cough were comparable to those in other areas of the U.S. with relatively high levels of ambient particulates and sulfur and nitrogen oxides. Phase II looked at variations in reported symptoms in relation to ambient SO2.
