Public comments accepted from December 13, 2013 – January 13, 2014 on Proposed Modification of an Existing Class 1 Underground Injection Control Permit AK-1I0006-A for Existing Class I Non-Hazardous Industrial Waste Injection Wells at the Trading Bay Unit, Cook Inlet, Alaska.
The request for modification is to singularly increase the injection pressure limitation currently set in the permit at 3500 pounds per square inch (psi) to an upper limit of 4500 psi. Trading Bay is an oilfield located offshore in Cook Inlet, Alaska. The field has been developed from offshore platforms four to six miles offshore in Cook Inlet. The EPA UIC Class I permit includes specific injection wells located on Dolly Varden Platform, King Salmon Platform, Steelhead Platform and Grayling Platform issued on October 19, 2005 and is effective through October 18, 2015. To date, one (1) Class I well offshore at Dolly Varden Platform has been approved for Class I injection.
