EPA provides grant assistance to Tribes to identify problems, educate staff and communities, implement strategies to reduce air pollution, and work with EPA and states to protect air quality and human health.

Types of grants available

Indian General Assistance Program (IGAP) - Funding to carryout initial baseline air monitoring and to increase understanding of air pollution impacts in their community.
Clean Air Act Section 103 - Funding for projects to study or investigate the causes and prevention of air pollution.
Clean Air Act Section 105 - Funding for implementing programs for the prevention and control of air pollution.
Direct Implementation Tribal Cooperative Agreements (DITCAs) - Available to help Tribes build capacity and assist EPA with the direct implementation of federal environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act.
