Hazardous Waste Compliance Program Review
This Hazardous Waste Compliance Program Review is a comprehensive look at the EPA Region 10, Idaho, Oregon and Washington state environmental agencies’ compliance and enforcement performance
for three years starting October 1, 1999.
There are eight evaluation areas in the scope of this review, with the primary focus on these three areas:
- Timely and appropriate response to significant violations;
- Accurate record keeping and reporting, including tracking significant noncompliers;
- Clear and enforceable requirements in enforcement orders.
We identified some issues common throughout the region as well as issues specific to each state program (EPA Region 10 implements the program in Alaska).
