River and Streams - Study Areas and Schedule

Information and maps are included for both the Western EMAP pilot and REMAP projects.

WESTERN EMAP
Beginning in 2000, over 400 sites have been selected for sampling in the states of Oregon, Washington and Idaho for Western EMAP. The maps below show the progress toward completing this sampling effort as of the February 2004. There are two components to the Western EMAP pilot: 1. Statewide scale surveys (a target of 160 sites in Region 10), and 2. Four focus area surveys, with more intensive sampling effort.

The four focus areas are: 1. Streams in the Deschutes and John Day Basins of Oregon; 2. Idaho Rivers; 3. Streams in the Wenatchee Basin of Washington; and 4. Streams on the Nez Perce Reservation (no map available yet).
