Wetland Program Development Grants
Wetland Program Development Grants (WPDG) provide financial assistance for wetland protection and enhancement to state, tribal and local governments. Grants may be used to develop or enhance programs for protecting, managing, or restoring wetlands.
Frequently Asked Questions about Wetland Program Development Grants:
Q. I'm confused about the grant eligibility wording "inventory or mapping.....considered implementation and is not eligible for funding under this competition." How do I know if the proposed work will fall under implementation?
A. Any mapping activities carried out as part of helping or informing development of a wetland program, for planning purposes, or as part of a demonstration project are eligible.
Q. How close do the budget estimates need to be for the preliminary application?
A. Budget estimates should be a good estimate and should cover the proposed scope of work. However, they do not need to be exact and are discussed in further detail if the application is one that moves forward.
5 Star Restoration Grants
The Five Star Restoration Program brings together students, conservation corps, other youth groups, citizen groups, corporations, landowners and government agencies to provide environmental education and training through projects that restore wetlands and streams. The program provides challenge grants, technical support and opportunities for information exchange to enable community-based restoration projects.
