Site Summary

Harbor Island, a 400-acre industrial site, lies at the mouth of the Duwamish Waterway on the southern edge of Elliott Bay. EPA has found contamination in soil, groundwater, and sediments at the site. EPA has divided the Harbor Island site into areas called "operable units (OUs)." The agency has documented decisions for the operable unit cleanups in documents called Records of Decision (RODs) and Explanations of Significant Differences (ESDs).
