8.BRIEF PARTIAL DELETION NARRATIVE:
The Lockheed Shipyard Operable Unit (OU) consists of an 18 acre shipyard facility located on the west side of Harbor Island at 2929 16th Avenue Southwest. The Lockheed Shipyard was a shipbuilding facility from the 1930's until 1986. This OU is bounded on the north by Southwest Lander Street, on the east by 16th Avenue Southwest, on the south by the Fisher Mill property, and the west by the West Waterway of the Duwamish River. This OU is being deleted because all appropriate response actions have been implemented by the responsible party.
Digital spatial data sets, originally created by the City of Seattle, Engineering Department, were obtained by EPA Region 10 and utilized for delineation of the area proposed for delisting. The area proposed for delisting comprises a single real property parcel polygon identified in the digital data set provided by the City of Seattle as Parcel Identification Number 7666702950. Other data obtained included street centerline locations, and the shoreline of Harbor Island, used for preparation of associated graphics.

6.What method was used to identify the NPL site and deleted portion coordinates?
Coordinates given in Sections 2.4 and 2.5 were derived from by using ARC/INFO geographic information systems software to manipulate the spatial data sets obtained from the City of Seattle. Full NPL site coordinates (Section 2.4) were derived by generalizing the shoreline data set for Harbor Island provided by the city, then ungenerating and projecting the coordinates of the vertices of the lines describing the shoreline. The coordinates of the area proposed for delisting (Section 2.5) were determined by extracting the four arcs which comprised the boundaries of Parcel 7666702950, and ungenerating and projecting the coordinates of the vertices of these arcs. All data extraction and manipulation was performed using ARC/INFO Geographic Information Systems software.
