Seeing Beyond Contamination: The Success of Seattle's Rainier Court
The following 12 minute video tells the story of the transformation of a contaminated site in Seattle's Rainier Valley into what is now known as "Rainier Court", a brand new mixed use building, including affordable housing for seniors and ground level commercial space. The video provides a clear and complelling illustration how the various tools EPA's Brownfields program provides can be used in such a project and the potential community impacts of brownfields cleanup and redevelopment efforts. It was filmed in 2005. It is 35 MB (taking 2.5 minutes to load in an office setting) and has audio.
