Description
General Electric Company Waste Water Facility, Plainville, CT. From 1975 to 1986, GE used an 1800 foot long pipeline to convey treated wastewater from metal finishing operations at the 41 Woodford Ave plant, beneath Woodford Ave and Woodland Street to a series of surface impoundments located next to the Quinnipiac River. Sludge from the surface impoundments was excavated in 1989. GE has been conducting investigations and closure activities under the direction of CTDEP.
