Description
The United Illuminating Company, Bridgeport is a power plant that burns oil and coal and utilizes acids and bases to treat its wastewater. There are no unacceptable exposures to humans from site contaminants in soils or surface water under current site uses. Very minimal releases to groundwater have taken place. The facility is currently operating as a power plant. Public involvement has been minimal.
Current Status
Facility continues work toward RCRA Closure/Post-Closure and Corrective Action.
