EPA Web Site Agency Look & Feel Compliance Audit and Privacy Audit
MEMORANDUM
| SUBJECT: |
EPA Web Site Agency Look & Feel Compliance Audit and
Privacy Audit |
| FROM: |
Elaine Stanley, Director
Office of Information Analysis and Access |
| TO: |
Agency Office Directors |
The Office of Environmental Information (OEI) would like to share the
results of our audits as promised in my memorandum on June 6, 2002 regarding
EPA's Web Site Audit Schedule. We have conducted 2 audits of the EPA Web site:
an Agency Look & Feel Compliance Audit and a Privacy Audit. The results for
your office can be obtained by visiting EPA's Look & Feel Compliance Report
at: http://www.epa.gov/webmast1/checktemplate
. These results are presented by organization and Web account. Clicking on
"Details" will reveal those pages that have been converted, the unconverted
pages, and those pages exempt from the redesign. It is important to note that
some of the pages considered unconverted may be acceptable under the
exemptions.
In addition to meeting the mandates of the Administrator, implementing the
Agency's Web site template will ensure compliance with OMB mandates concerning
privacy notices. The Privacy Audit will verify that all EPA Web pages are
providing a link to the Agency's Privacy and Security Notice which is available
at: http://www.epa.gov/epafiles/usenotice.htm
. Compliance with the Agency Look & Feel will satisfy this requirement
since a link to the notice is included in the template.
We request that your office take the steps necessary to convert any pages
that are not yet presented in the updated Look & Feel. Detailed information
on these requirements, including a list of exemptions, is available on the
EPA's Web Guide ( http://yosemite.epa.gov/oei/webguide.nsf ) under the
"design specifications." In addition, we thank those offices who have made
significant progress and those that have achieved 100% compliance. Your efforts
have helped us in presenting a unified Web site to the public. If you have
further questions, need additional support, or are experiencing technical
issues, please contact Jonda Byrd at
(513) 569-7183 for assistance.
