Case Studies
| |
Real world examples of actions taken at every level are present throughout this site. However, several areas of the site focus specifically on case studies:
- State and Local Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Case Studies
These state and local government examples demonstrate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of a variety of methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Each case study features a description of the project and, if available, quantitative results in terms of emissions reductions, energy savings, and costs. The case studies also identify individuals involved in managing and implementing the projects, and provide contacts for additional information.
Additional Sources for Case Studies
- ACE3
(American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy) presents a number of case studies of projects that have combined energy efficiency measures with pollution prevention strategies within industry.
- SafeClimate's success stories
SafeClimate presents success stories of individuals, organizations, and companies that have succesfully reduced their climate impacts.
- CREST
(Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology) documents state and local government activities that have resulted in reducing or preventing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency or renewable energy technologies, better municipal planning, and progressive sustainable energy and resource practices.
- DSIRE
(Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy) displays the results of a survey of state financial incentives, programs, and regulatory policies designed to promote renewable energy technologies.
