NYSERDA supports research, development and commercialization activities in all areas of renewable energy technology by providing financial support to further the market penetration of renewable technology across the state and around the world.
Amounts
NYSERDA is funded through a surcharge on intrastate gas and electric sales by the state's investor-owned utilities as well as funds from the New York Power Authority and royalties on projects.

System Benefits Charge

Description
The SBC public benefits program is designed to help maintain momentum for the State’s efforts to promote competitive markets for energy efficiency and low-income services, research and development (R&D), and environmental protection.
Amounts
A total of $150 million will be available.
Eligibility
Funding from the System Benefits Charge will be used for New York Energy $mart Programs which includes energy efficiency, research and development, environmental programs, and low-income programs.
Application Deadline
System Benefits Charge will be in place until 2006.
